I am so drawn to the work of Dear Plastic - the bright neon colors, the playfulness, the whimsy - are qualities I admire and dream of incorporating into my own work somehow. Many of their collaborative projects focus on upcycling and center around discussions of eco-friendliness, which seems to be a budding and relevant topic in today's contemporary art world. In their statement, they explain: "We are interested in the power and beauty of nature, the lightness of pure creative freedom and creative ways of leading a sustainable practice." I find their work evocative of childhood play, but not without a touch of seriousness. I highly recommend looking into their projects as well as their gorgeous shop.
